An unrivaled international faculty

My name is Federico Sacchi, and I have the honor of serving as the Artistic and Executive Director of SPSC.

As a bass singer with over two decades of experience performing at renowned European opera houses like Opernhaus Zurich, Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, and Oper Frankfurt, it is my pleasure to share with you that I have been associated with SPSC since 2010, at the gracious invitation of the founder, M. Benton Hess.

SPSC’s remarkable approach to language and opera never ceases to fascinate me. In my capacity as a visiting faculty for the program over the years, I have had the privilege of imparting my knowledge to young singers from all continents, ranging from beginners to professionals, and from soprano leggero to basso profondo. I have had the honor of teaching in conservatories, universities, opera houses, and summer programs, where I have trained over 500 students to date.

Recently, in 2022, I was elected as the President of the Committee for the Safeguarding of the Practice of Opera Singing in Italy, while in 2023, I was nominated by the Italian Ministry of Education as the President of the Conservatorio Cantelli in Novara.

I am delighted to express my willingness to meet new artists and welcome them to our program with great excitement.

Language

“Si parla, si canta!” is the only program in which our already highly qualified Italian language teachers provided by the Dante Alighieri Society, have also been specifically trained in diction for opera singers by former artistic director M° Benton Hess.

The focus of the program will be on grammar and conversation skills, while maintaining a particular emphasis on diction for opera singers, which will be supervised by Hemdi Kfir, a language coach at the Metropolitan Opera of New York.

The program will be an intensive 60-hour course designed to improve everyone’s Italian language proficiency. We invite all those interested to join us and benefit from this unique and valuable program.
