About Brian Osborne
Brian Osborne returns to “Si parla, si canta” bringing with him the expertise of one who is both a singer and a collaborative pianist.
Mr. Osborne joined the music faculty at Oklahoma City University in the fall of 2008 as vocal coach/accompanist and teacher of French lyric diction and French vocal literature. While at OCU he has served as music director for The Consul, Too Many Sopranos, and as recitalist, pit continuo player and rehearsal pianist for a variety of productions.
A native of Augusta, Georgia, he has also served on the music faculty at the University of Mississippi. He was head coach at Opera in the Ozarks for three seasons, and has worked with a variety of festivals and opera companies, including Ash Lawn-Highland Opera, Augusta Opera, Utah Opera Festival, Regina Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Brevard Music Center, Vianden Music Festival (Luxembourg), Opera North, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Virginia Opera.
In the summer of 2008 Mr. Osborne made his conducting debut at Opera in the Ozarks with The Mikado. He also recently served as music director and coach with the Knoxville Opera Studio and performed with the Knoxville Symphony.
He has served numerous schools and universities as a staff vocal coach and lecturer, including Manhattan School of Music, the University of Kentucky, Brenau University, Simpson College, and Piedmont College. In August of 2009 Mr. Osborne joined the faculty of the Vianden International Music Festival in Luxembourg, where he served as music director for a highly popular and successful cabaret evening of American Musical Theater. Osborne is also the musical director for the wildly successful annual concert of American Music at “Si parla, si canta,” which will take place in 2012 on the 4th of July.
His alma maters include The University of Georgia, Florida State University, and The University of Tennessee.
